Our winter red-bellied woodpecker is back once again
bringing with him some nice bright color on this wintry day.
While Mister Cardinal in all his bright red finery likes to
grace us year round.
We’re blessed in New England during the winter with not only
bright colorful birds but also with orange berries popping out begging to be
seen against the snow.
As we’re about to embark on a bright New Year Dylan is
definitely not going to be looking back…..
But forward to all the new adventures that await us.
I feel so grateful for all the friendships I’ve made
throughout the years and blessed that you’ve invited me into your lives through
your blogs. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and friendship
and wish all of you a bright, healthy and Happiest of New Years going into
2013!
Much Love to you all!

so lovely and serene looking, debra. wishing you all the best in the new year...donna
ReplyDeleteWow..so much snow, as Iam staring out at our paltry dusting. I am a little jealous if I am going to be stuck inside, I want to see feet of snow outside my window! Dylan looks like he has done that before:) Your pictures are so pretty, do you ever feel like you are living inside the pages of National Geographic, every day just walking around must feel like a wonderful adventure, nothing like the country!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gift of friendship and your wonderful blog. Wishing you the best in 2013!
Well I'm sure I speak for your followers, we all have loved looking at your blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year

Hi Barbara, I am so thankful for you, your blog and the connection we've made! Thank you so much for your kind comment on my last post. It meant a lot. We are hanging in there! I've moved back to my childhood home to care for my mother for now while my dad regains his strength in a rehabilitation center nearby. I'm very grateful for the time with them. I look forward to returning to my cherished conversations with all of my blog friends soon. Until then, wishing you a very happy new year and looking forward to hearing about the adventures that await you in 2013! XOXO
ReplyDeleteDebra I feel the same way; I appreciate your friendship and encouragement! What beautiful scenes to look out on every day!

Good Morning Debra!
ReplyDeleteLook at all that snow! I woke up to a chilly 26 degrees. No snow but lots of ice!
I wish that we lived closer.. I'd be out there walking with you! Nothing better than a morning hike to start the day;) Excellent bird photos! We have some beautiful birds that my husband has enjoyed photographing. I've noticed some of them stop by less frequently (environmental issues). We are considering becoming part of a state guided sanctuary program whereby we have specific feed and "safety zones" for some of the birds that have dwindling populations.
The pops of orange berries in the white snow is so pretty.
Wishing you the best all life has to offer in 2013!!

Happy New Year Debra!!
ReplyDeleteOh, it looks so beautiful there. If only I could somehow magically teleport myself and Ben to go for that same walk with you and DD...
Sending wishes for a wonderful 2013 ahead.

Heartily greetings and love,

Sorry for being a bit late - but...:), just working myself through the blogworld and my electronic letter box.
In Germany we can send New Year's greetings up to the 7th of January, so...here I am!
And Oskar sends a deep and big purr-purr over the Atlantic to YOU! He sounds like a sewing machine right now!
Happy sewing!

Your photos are gorgeous!!! Love the red cardinal photo. Looks like a postcard. My Mom thinks red cardinal's are good luck, so perhaps 2013 is going to be a very lucky year for you. I see Dylan is happy playing in the snow!!! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this coming year. xo

Debra- Happy New Year to you! What a beautiful winter wonderland you have about you - the pictures are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI am so fond of cardinals - they were my late grandmother Honey's favorite bird, and I always think of her when I see them.
On to 2013!

Debra, how are you? I hope that you are enjoying your weekend and were able to get Haute Cuisine. I enjoyed it tremendously! But I have to tell you that I do not think I would enjoy that food, I have simpler taste.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about your latest projects.
Have a great night, Elizabeth
Oh, I missed this post... that's a thick blanket of snow!!
ReplyDeleteWe have only 1 centimeter ;-)
Yes, my mother (in law) is travelling to Thailand. She is a very healthy and jaunty lady.
I don't think I will be able to do that when I am 75!
Debra,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!! Your photos are phenom and the one with Mr. Cardinal needs to be enlarged, framed and hung somewhere prominent!
Wishing all good things for you this year!
xoxo Elizabeth
Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! It looks like you are having a wonderful sort of winter. Someday I hope to experience a New England winter with plenty of snow. Here, it is just cold, cold with occasional ice and a few snowflakes.
I hope you are able to get some hyacinth bean vine seeds and give it a try! They grow so fast that they're super fun to watch.
All the best,
Keri
Debra,
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of you lately! I hope that you are not keeping yourself too busy and have had time to take in the beauty of your beautiful land this winter.
Today on La Pouyette there was a beautiful post about the London antique and Textile Show, I am sure that you know if it but if not here is a link.

Debra,
ReplyDeleteHello! How are you? Are you staying warm with the frigid temperatures? The wind and temperatures have been below normal here in the Midwest where I am visiting my family. I cannot even tell you how excited I was to see the snow!
I too was out walking and had terrible wind burn. I am sure that your area is stunning with the snow.
How are you? Is your work keeping you busy or are you able to relax and read a bit?
Looking forward to hearing what you are making!
Take care, Elizabeth
those pictures are sublime!
