Haute Couture: Stylish & Convenient

Ok I’m going to let a big secret out…or not…I am no fashionista but every once in a while something comes along that you just have to share and these dresses are something I just had to share.

Over a dozen Canadian fashion designers got together for a breast cancer fundraiser and designed some high fashion…… toilet paper anyone? Yes toilet paper that often found paper product in most people’s homes.

While some of the gowns are purely pink and white toilet paper the designers were also allowed to use suit fusing for stability. They were also allowed to use rhinestones, tulle and ribbon.

Who ever knew that something so chic could be designed out of something so simple as toilet paper? So next time your in the lady’s room get creative, let your imagination run wild, who knows you just might create the next fashion “it” gown!

To see some wedding gowns made out of toilet paper go here. So what do you think of these gowns?

Are you kidding me? Toilet paper??? These are beautiful. Don't think I'm quite that creative...would also afraid to wear them. Sounds a bit fragile. Have a great week. Mona

That is insane and almost hard to believe!! Some of these are drop dead gorgeous and since they are biodegradable, they are eco friendly too! Its a win win!
Thanks for sharing..truly incredible works of art.

PS LOVE your new header, new look!

Noticed your new header immediately, love it.

This is so funny because just yesterday at my niece Alissa's Wedding Shower, one of the "dreaded games' was for groups of four to choose one person who would be the model for a wedding gown out of toilet tissue!

They actually looked pretty good, nothing like these creations though, and mine kept falling apart. (we could not use and glues, tapes etc!!

I think they're pretty darn amazing considering they're toilet paper! However in my rainy climate they'd probably disintigrate in about 10 minutes! Lol! Do you think a higher or lower quality of TP makes a difference *winks* Vanna

Amazing work! What a group of talented designers. I especially love the gown in the fourth image; and the one that looked like chainmail...who would have guessed?

Congrats to all of them for their creativity.

Best...Victoria

Debra, you are so silly! I love that you posted this! We all need extra smiles on a Monday.

Am not sure that a wedding gown made out of TP would bring good luck though (insert the appropriate 'going down the toilet' jokes here)!

More power and congratulations to the people behind this event and those designers participating. There is no more noble deeds than raising funds for fight against cancer.
