Moody Blue

Viking Ship Museum, Oslo

It has been raining here in the northeast for the last two days making things dark and gloomy but the sky color has been incredible. If only we could capture some of those moody grays to pull into a paint color.

I personally am thinking of pulling the darker blue/gray into accent pieces since they seem so perfect with browns and I have a lot of browns throughout my home. What do you think do you like a deep gray for an accent?

How I love this post, that well worn patina of rich blues is beyond exquisite!! Love it. I am using lots of rich blues and browns in the family room and am very excited about this color combination...cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Oh Debra, these photos.... I wish I could transfer what my eye sees and what my brain thinks into such marvellous pictures like you do! The colours are fantastic, I love blue and brown combinations - and I do understand what you mean - we should be able to take some colours directly out of nature and put it into cans or glasses or whatever to be able using it on walls or wood or whatever. Seeing these pictures I only can say: oh please, my dream, come true... All the best to you and Dylan-boy, Nik

i adore that color and how it complements wood. it is a hue i don't tire of and is such a manly blue.

gorgeous images you have shared, and i can't wait to hear about your favorite shade of this blue!

Debra I love it! Those are the colors in the pillow you sent me. Those luscious blues/greys go wonderfully with browns and tans/ creams.

I do like deep gray for an accent as it can be paired with anything and it is really coming around as a nice nail polish colour as well.
Great images here.
The image of the eggs remind me of a unique collection I walked through in Bologna of the curiosities from the 1500's or so.

I love all of the above! Now those grey blues are perfect. I'm not much into blue at my house, but I think a pale gray blue would work pretty much as a neutral. Those doors are killer fab!
You'll be happy to hear Debra that I won't be sharing much in the way of dolls....I'm now on to a dome fetish *winks*......You cracked me up with your comment you wicked girl! Vanna

We love a good moody gray. We have shades of gray and black throughout our home. Against white walls, it makes a great accent.

Beautiful images. I love gray, blue gray and all its permutations. It looks wonderful with brown. I also use it with bronzy gold. I would love to replicate the color of that soap wrapper.
Have fun with it. Best...Victoria
