A tidbit of Julie & Danni's design work
Julie and Danni from the blog T&G have such a clean updated traditional design look, a look I would
be proud to have in my home and I hope if you get a moment you stop by and say
hello. Their blog is classic and stylish and they’re just wonderful gals. Julie
and Danni tagged me a couple of weeks ago. This is just like the game of tag
from our youth. The rules are as follows:
Rules
You must post the rules
Answer the 11 questions the tagger posted for you and create
11 new questions for people you tag.
Tag 11 people and link them to your blog
Let the people you tag know they’ve been tagged….simple!
So here we go with the questions that were posted to me:
1) Who are your favorite designers?
John Saladino via House Beautiful
Darryl Carter / The New Trational
McAlpine Booth & Ferrier
Eleanor Cummings
Stephen Sills
Pamela Pierce
I could keep listing and showing designers that I love all
day but are you starting to see my style? I like clean lines, uncluttered rooms
and if possible a hint of European elegance.
2) What is your favorite room to decorate?
Jose Solis Betancourt
The living room, I think you have more design choices and
can get more creative.
3) What trend do you love?
Pamela Pierce
I’m not really much of a trendy person but the one item I
have fallen for is burlap fabric. I love its relaxed causal look without being
cheap looking.
4) What's your biggest pet peeve in design?
Atlanta Lifestyles & Homes
Atlanta Lifestyles & Homes
Atlanta Lifestyles & Homes
CLEARANCE! My biggest pet peeve is people not allowing
enough clearance around furniture and in kitchens. The first image you don’t
have enough clearance to get the oven doors open. There’s another bench on the
other side of the island but the picture was too big to show so there’s nowhere
to move that bench. The second picture, if people are sitting on the right side
of the dining table there’s no way to get out and walk behind the chairs. So
clearance is my biggest pet peeve!
5) What have you learned or gained from blogging?
Pinterest
I’ve come to know my personal style more and I’ve made some
amazing friendships. I’ve learned how generous people can be not only with
their time but also their sources. People truly are the best and blogging seems
to bring the best people.
6) How long have you been blogging?
Pinterest
I’ve been blogging two years come June and never did I think
I had so much to say or show! It’s been so much fun, thank you everyone!
7) What exciting things or opportunities have happened to you because of blogging?
I haven’t really had any opportunities come my way mainly
because I’m not an interior designer I’m an antique textile dealer. I used to
be an interior designer and that’s why I love blogging.
I hope my blog makes people happy and I come away with a new
friend.
9) How long does it take you to do a post?
I think probably two hours but I don’t really sit down and
do a post all at once I pick at it as I have time. I usually start with
pictures first and do the writing last. I love it when posts come together of
their own accord and in less than thirty minutes it’s posted.
10) A little unknown fact about you?
pinterest
I’m a little bit of a germ-a-phobic, yep it’s true those
little unseen things can sometimes send me running straight for my bottle of
Clorox bleach!
11) What do you hope your blog will achieve in the long run?
Nothing really, I hope people leave my blog a new friend and
they’ve enjoyed themselves and what I’ve shared.

Oh my, I loved everything you posted here! All of it! Just gorgeous. I would say that we have the same taste but I think that would be giving myself a big compliment! :)
Bisous to you, scratchies to you know who,
H.
Such an interesting post, Debra. I say "Yes" to every one of the designers you love, with John Saladino at the tip top of the list. Clearance is great point. I could not believe those oven doors. Do they move the bench to another room when they cook?
Blogging has become a wonderful pastime for me from the perspective of a reader not a blogger, and I thank you and all the bloggers I regularly follow for imparting such fascinating information and entertainment to my life. Learning a little bit more about yours was enchanting -- even the Clorox. Have a wonderful day.
All the best,
Victoria
Thank you for tagging me, Debra! I am way behind on responding to another set of tag questions so perhaps I will do a combined one. I have an issue with clearance, too, and always bring it to clients' attention - something constantly overlooked. I like the style of the rooms you have picked - they appear to have evolved over time.
hi Debra- Well, that was a fun read! Loved reading all your answers (and I never realized you only posted on weekends!) Thanks for the tag;) I'll have to give those questions some thought! Hope you and Dylan are enjoying this beautiful day!

Hi Debra. It was so good to learn more about you! I love each and every one of your fav designers pics that you posted. T&G is also aregular stop for me and I love their work! Now about that pet peeve of clearance that you have... I am afraid that I have that problem in my dining room. The table that I orderder was made a size to large and when it arrived I decided to keep it and knock down a wall in the entrance hall but alas that stil has to happen!!! Mr Tassels (former) was not one bit enchanted with the idea of knocking down the wall! Should I remain here I will most certainly demolish that wall... it drives me crazzzzzyyyyy!!!!
Thanks for the tag... will post by the end or Monday at the latest!
Have a great week!
Veronica
Looking forward to visiting your other tag as well!

Well, hello Debra! Not only did I enjoy reading all your answers, but see that I was tagged along with some of my favorite bloggers!!! Which is really great, because sometimes we NEED ideas of what to write about!
I, too, love burlap. I've used it as a table cloth and as a liner for my curtains. I would use it all over the house if I could.
And, love the designers you chose. I could definitely see a common thread among them. And, it's a look I would be all too happy to have in my home!
Hope your week is off to a great start!
xo Elizabeth
Between your post on Enchanted Home and now this one I feel like I'm really getting to know you! I love all of your designer/ design choices- every single one! I always enjoy whatever you decide to write about. Keep up the awesome job :)
Hello Debra!
How sweet of you, my friend! Thank you so much for this! This is actually the 3rd time someone "tagged" me and I'm in a serious need to return it to all of you! :-)
I loved getting to know you a little better. You're sooooo fun!!!
Big hugs to you.

I love hearing a bit more about you! Thanks for introducing me to some new designers. I just shared one of the dining rooms on Pinterest. I agree with your statement about clearance - a room has to be moveable. xo
Hi Debra,
This particular group of questions & answers was especially wonderful for me to read since I am still new at blogging. It was nice to read questions specific to blogging and all that comes with it. I absolutely love blogging. I know it will evolve as time goes on but for now it is one of the most satisfying outlets I have ever experienced.
Thank you for such insightful honest answers and especially for sharing it with all of your readers.

Hi Debra!
I love your designer choices. Julie & Danni's work is just so beautiful and that Eleanor Cummings room-- SWOON!
Thank you for your comment over at my place! I'm still on the face of the earth! :D I have been lured away, but am back with finger once more flying across the keyboard! I'm working on a gardening post-- one of my favorite plants that grows in abundance around my place. So I hope to talk to you again real soon!!
Enjoy your day!
Keri
It was great to learn all these things about you Debra, and I love your style and your pet peeve, definitely agree! Great post

Debra, what an interesting post. Thanks for sharing info about yourself. I love reading your blog. Hugs, KIm
Debra,
I am happy that you liked the post. I love your online store/web site. I cannot beleive the unbeleivable selection of textiles! As I said I am in awe of the age and beauty.
I would love for you to show more of your wares! And to tell how you find these pieces, and how you got into textiles. I am sure it is a fascinating story.
Have a great week, Elizabeth
Hi Debra,

Hi Debra, don't know how I missed this but just making a few visits to get some much needed diversion after a horrific 2 days. Thought it would be nice to visit some of my friends and see something uplifting. This was great and entertaining. I agree about your pet peeve, clearance is SO important. And I can attest to the fact that your blog makes many people, myself included very happy. Thanks for sharing some interesting tidbits about yourself, always fun to know more about you.
Very intriguing indeed!!!
Would love to follow the rules....maybe in a few weeks time or even in May.
You've done a brilliant job with this post, Debra!
Sunny greetings and best wishes for a lovely and Happy Easter,
karin
Hi Debra!
Thank you for your sweet compliment! I'm so glad to help pass on the information on ivy, and I hope you prevail in getting some planted. The links to the study are interesting and, of course, go into considerable greater depth than my post including a section disputing the claim that the aerial roots of common ivy (Helix) take root into the structure.
Good luck, dearest!
Keri
Hi girlie,
Just stopping by to wish you and your family a Happy Easter/Spring.
Love to you.
See you next week!
Mon
What a fun interview Debra! I couldn't agree more on your design style and designer choices...no wonder I love your blog. :) Thanks so much for your continued comments on my posts during my crazy move...I am starting to get settled and will be by more often coming up. Have a great weekend!
An enjoyable read. Thank you.
My heart sank when I was tagged - I felt that I had to play the game, but was reluctant to such exposure. However, once finished, I realised that I really enjoyed the process. It was disappointing that there was little response by those whom I tagged. I note that you have tagged some of the same people - I'm looking forward to reading their responses.
Warm regards.
Debra,
I hope that you have a HAppy Easter! I have so enjoyed your blog and your webstore, I am in awe of your beautiful textiles and the things you make. Since discovering your blog, I have been seeing beautiful vintage textiles everywhere! And I love finding more information about them.
Have a wonderful day,
Elizabeth
Wishing you a wonderful Easter!
Best,
Christina
